Introduction to Web Laboratory Units

Each week you will need to read the Web Lab Units that are on your CD. These Units are also on Soil,Water,Climate Department's web server. Reading these web pages will be required before doing the laboratory in 243 Borlaug. By reading these first, the lab activity will be much easier for you to do and you will get more out of it.
These web units also contain all of the required reading for the course with the exception of the reading materials in the laboratory investigation booklet. They also contain links to the Power Point Lecture presentations.

Web pages will have links to other web pages on the internet. You would need to be connected to the internet in order to use these additional pages of interest. Only the web pages on the CD will be used for exam questions.

For Example the link below goes to a web page that gives a brief description of the soils found in Minnesota. The Soils of Minnesota

The Study of soils requires that you confront the soil many times. You will have the opportunity in this course to learn about soils from; web pages, lecture, laboratory investigations, and problem solving individually and as a team member on Team Exams.

The study of soils is not easy since many topics are covered, but it should be fun. Enjoy the journey and all the roadcuts encountered.
